In Japan, Dean taught English at Tokyo Kyoiku Daigaku (Tokyo Education University) and at Fukushima University. He was also a teacher trainer for the Toyama Prefectural Board of Education. Dean is the Managing Director of The East West Group, Inc., a consulting firm located in Mill Valley, California, specializing in cross-cultural business and human resource development. Ken Murakami, a Kyoto native based in the U.S., has served as president of the National Business Institute, senior advisor to Intercultural Communication Specialists and director of Intercultural Training Resources, Inc. He is the author of many books and articles (in both Japanese and English) on language and communication. Patrick Bray, director of business development for JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), designs strategies for American firms that wish to enter the Japanese marketplace.
